At Nord Orthodontics, we use iTero™ Digital Impressions to make orthodontic care more comfortable, precise, and efficient. Traditional putty impressions are no longer needed. With iTero technology, we capture highly accurate digital scans of your teeth in minutes.
For patients considering Invisalign or other clear aligner treatments, precision matters. iTero digital scans provide exceptional detail, allowing for more accurate treatment planning and predictable results. Compared to traditional impressions, the clarity and accuracy are like upgrading from standard definition to high-definition imaging.
The iTero scanner captures the exact contours of your teeth and gum tissue, creating a detailed 3D model without the discomfort of messy impression materials. This non-invasive process is ideal for Invisalign, clear aligners, retainers, and other orthodontic appliances.
How Does iTero Digital Scanning Work?
The iTero system uses a small handheld wand to take a series of digital images of your teeth and gums. As the scanner moves around your mouth, a 3D image appears on the screen in real time.
The process is comfortable and flexible. You can pause, swallow, or reposition as needed without affecting accuracy. Because the scan is digital, retakes are rarely necessary, and you can immediately view, rotate, and zoom in on your scan to better understand your treatment.
Once completed, your digital scan is securely sent to the lab and, for Invisalign patients, is typically available in the Invisalign ClinCheck system by the next day. This allows us to begin planning your treatment without delays and even preview potential results using the Invisalign Outcome Simulator.
